Some Doubt Love’s Valor

Some doubt Love’s valor, but this much I know:
Her voice is heard in the uncharted deep.
Where Courage would not try, I saw her leap;
Love often treads where others dare not go.
I’ve witnessed her defy the greatest might
That man and earth could summon; saw her scorn
A king to kiss a beggar, saw her mourn
The smallest candle plundered of its light.

She bears all things, but only of her choice:
The yoke you lay she shrugs away to dance.
She heeds no call but that of her soul’s voice,
And if she does your will, it’s happenstance.

She lives past valor, in the spirit’s flow.
Free, welcome her, and freely let her go.
