Objectification I

We all want to be objectified sometimes
the right times
when lust asks and power
says yes

when we feel safe enough where we are,
who we are,
to be an object, knowing
we will only be the kind of object
we like

not for us the mute slavery of unthinking things
not for us the idiot glorification of chattel
that can only come from privilege steeped in blood
not for us the abjuration of responsibility
nor the abdication of self

No: for us the play of power
the spiraling dynamics of freedom
dancing with the meanings of what it means to want
take
give
lust
love
and shatter
